SSE's Electricity Trading Commitment to Eligible Suppliers
In 2014 Ofgem introduced Special Licence Condition AA (“Secure and Promote”) to the generation licence. Secure and Promote aims to make it easier for small electricity suppliers to access the GB wholesale electricity market and improve market liquidity.
Further information about Secure and Promote can be found in Ofgem’s guidance document (see link below).
SSE is committed to helping small electricity suppliers access the wholesale electricity market and will make the full Secure and Promote product range available to Eligible Suppliers. Any price SSE quotes to an Eligible Supplier will be based on the best price that is available to SSE in the market at the time the price is requested.
SSE is also committed to bringing a fair and transparent approach to credit risk management when contracting with Eligible Suppliers. We will endeavour to offer credit terms and collateral arrangements that are both clear and proportionate.
If you are a small supplier who meets the eligibility criteria and would like to benefit from a trading relationship with SSE or have questions about our trading commitment, please contact Laura McIntyre at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would also ask that you complete our New Counterparty Information Form (link below) and return it to us at the address on the form together with a copy of your latest financial accounts and your company’s bank details on company letter-headed paper signed by a listed director or similar.
We look forward to hearing from you.
